Registration Details

Pre K and Kindergarten
Includes an Under Armour jersey. No shorts.

Pre-K and K players will play games together.

This division is different then all others as it is focused on development. There are no playoffs for the Pre-K/K division.

ALL Girls Standard 3RD-8th Grade

Includes an Under Armour jersey. No Shorts. Divisions are separated by grade with the anticipated division grade structure being 3rd/5th and 6th/8th.

Co-ed Standard Flag Football – 1st-8th grade
Includes an Under Armour jersey and shorts. Divisions are separated by grade with the anticipated division grade structure being 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, and 7th/8th.

General League Format
  • 6 game season plus playoffs or consolation games
  • 6 v 6 format (except PK/K is 5 v 5) on 25-30 yd wide x 50 yd long fields
  • NO pass rush, just a 3-6 second sack count. Emphasis on the pass game and run game limitations
  • Practices are held an hour before the games (Our Pre K – K division will not have practice prior to their games)
  • Rosters are formed by friend/coach request
  • ALL SINGLE PLAYERS WILL BE PLACED TO CREATE A TEAM
  • Trophies are awarded to the Champions of the grade/age division
  • Games played in the evenings when possible

REFUND POLICY:
We at Under the Lights Flag offer the following refunds within these specific timelines. All refund requests must be submitted by email to your League Commissioner.

FULL or 100% registration fee refund if requested before uniforms are ordered for the league which occurs 3 weeks prior to kickoff.
HALF or 50% registration fee refund if requested after uniforms are ordered and prior to the 2nd game of the season not 2nd week of the season.

NO REFUND request submitted and processed after the 2nd game of the season.
In the event that the Under the Lights Flag season is canceled prior to the 4th game of the season due to an unforeseen event such as a COVID19 outbreak, then HALF or 50% registration fee refund will be processed. If the season is canceled after the 4th game of the season due to an unforeseen event such as a COVID19 outbreak, NO REFUND will be processed.

Coaches and Volunteers Background Checks

For safety and protection of our players, we require ALL Coaches and Volunteers for Under the Lights Flag leagues to have a current Criminal History Background Check. Furthermore, ALL Coaches and Volunteers must perform their background check through the Under the Lights Background Check system. Please click on the link above for your Background Check.

  • All coaches are volunteers and are not provided by Under the Lights Flag League
  • All Coaches and Volunteers must provide the Commissioner of your league with a current Coaches certification and background check
  • Each certificate is valid for 1 calendar year

Starkey Ranch Flag Football FAQs

What day and where are the practices?

Practices will be held on gamedays one hour prior to the game in a designated practice areas. Coaches may voluntarily organize practices during the week.

No practices for the Pre K – K Division

Who will be the coaches and how do you become a coach?

We encourage parents to participate as coaches as we promote a fun-filled family atmosphere in developing proper sportsmanship. To become a Coach please select the appropriate box on the registration form. Every coach must have a current background check. You can find the background checks and certifications in our Coaches Corner.

How do I request a friend or coach for my child's team?
On the registration form it will ask you “Friend Request” and “Coach Request”.
How do I form or register a team?

Each team can have up to 10 players on a roster, to organize a team please have each player either request a Coach or Friend on the registration form. The software will filter the request and assign the players to a team.

What does my kid need to wear for games?
  • Every player will need a mouthguard
  • Under Armour Performance Game Shirt provided to all players
  • Under Armour Raid Shorts for 1st-8th grade CO-ED Division players
  • The choice of wearing the provided shorts and other brand shoes is the players decision
  • ALL shorts worn for competition must have NO pockets!
What type of football will be used?
  • Kindergarten – 4th Grade will use Pee-Wee football
  • 5th – 6th Grade will use Junior football
  • 7th – 8th Grade will use Youth football
  • All footballs will be Under Armour
Can my child play in a younger division? Example: A 3rd Grader playing in the 1st-2nd Grade Division.
NO. A player can never play down a division but can always play a division up.
